Japanese Encephalitis in Assam

According to health bulletin released by health department at least 85 people have died of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Assam in the months of July and August combinedly. Since July 2022, around 390 cases of the infection have been reported. The nine medical colleges and ten district hospitals in the state are equipped with requisite facilities and have been designated as JE treatment centers.
