Dengue In Delhi

 

Nearly 150 cases of chikungunya have been reported in Delhi, with 9 of them being recorded in the month of June 2017.

 

According to municipal report approximately 87 cases of dengue has been reported in Delhi till June 2017.

 

Out of the 146 chikungunya cases, 10 were recorded in the month of May, 19 in April while 34 were diagnosed in March. 20 cases were detected in January and 13 in February.

According to South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) report, Six cases of dengue were reported in January, four in February, 11 in March, eight cases in May and ten dengue cases reported till June 2017.


At least 21 deaths due to dengue were reported last year at various hospitals, including nine at AIIMS, though the official tally of the SDMC stood at 10. The total cases of dengue were 4,431 reported till the end of 2016. Chikungunya is one of the worst outbreak in 2016, a total of 12,221 chikungunya cases were reported in Delhi till December, out of which 9,749 were confirmed.
