Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) in Udupi district, Karnataka

A total of 46 cases of monkey disease and one death is reported in the district of Udipi, Karnataka. Kyasanur Forest Disease is a disease caused by dead monkeys and spread by biting the furs produced by them.

Filariasis disease in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal

A total of 16 filariasis cases have been reported in Dhupaguri sub-division of Jalpaiguri district. The health department launched an operation to eradicate this disease. Representatives of the health department conducted house-to-house surveys at night in 20 places across Jalpaiguri district. Basically, its samples were found in the blood of school students in tea plantation-dominated areas of Jalpaiguri district. These cases were found among the 4 workers of tea garden in Haldibari and 12 workers in Karbala tea garden.
