The outbreak of a new 'mysterious' virus named 2019-novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China has raised alarm bells among health officials the world over as number of people infected and the resultant death toll continues to rise. The new virus is the seventh known member of the coronavirus family which also includes the virus that cause common cold and pneumonia. Since Dec 31, 2019, the Chinese city of Wuhan has reported an outbreak of atypical pneumonia caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Cases have been exported to other Chinese cities, as well as internationally, threatening to trigger a global outbreak.

According to the world’s leading infectious disease experts assuming that the Wuhan coronavirus spreading from China is now likely to become a pandemic that circles the globe. In the last three weeks, the number of lab-confirmed cases has soared from about 50 in China to more than 17,000; there have been more than 360 deaths reported only from china.
